Preference in woodcarving Danny Ayers likes old church woodcarvings:I am a big fan of medieval art, and one of my favorite forms is church woodcarving. I have seen some nice pieces around Europe, but my favourites are in English churches. There are different genres, but it's clear that the carvers (who moved around the country, and to some extent the rest of Europe) learnt from each other's work. Some is naive (probably done by local amateurs), but much of the surviving work is highly skilled and very sophisticated.Comment From carvingCode on March 28, 2004 at 9:47 p.m..

Possibility of Life on Mars Stronger

  • Independent: Methane find on Mars may be sign of life. A strong signal of life on Mars has been detected by scientists at the US National Aeronautics and Space Admin- istration (Nasa) and the European Space Agency. Each group has independently discovered tantalising evidence of methane in the Martian atmosphere. Methane, a waste product of living organisms on Earth, could also be a by-product of alien microbes living under the surface of the Red Planet. Music Education Takes Centre Stage The Australian Government has announced that it will commission a national Review of School Music Education to investigate the quality and status of music education in our schools and how we can increase both for the benefit of all students.
