L'histoire par l'image L'Histoire par l'Image is an innovative online project which takes users through the history of 18th, 19th, and up to early 20th century France by means of presentation and analysis of works of art and iconographic documentation. With a thematic and chronological structure, users may browse or search a collection of images related not only to notable events from France's history but which are also representative of everyday society and culture. Fondation Jacques Brel This is the Web site for the Jacques Brel Foundation, devoted to the popular Belgian singer-songwriter. The Marshall Plan study collection The Marshall Plan study collection is an online resource hosted by the Truman Presidential Museum and Library based in Independence, Missouri, USA. There are almost 70 primary source documents posted here, along with photographs of former President Truman and Secretary of State Marshall with various officials. Together, these sources illustrate the initiation in 1947 of the economic and diplomatic plan for American contributions to the rebuilding of Europe after the Second World War. Puke Ariki : from your soldier boy : WW1 postcards This small online exhibition is published on the Puke Ariki web site. The exhibition is of patriotic and propaganda postcards sent to New Zealand during the First World War. There are 12 postcards in total, ranging from military images, sentimental pictures and patriotic illustrations, providing viewers with an interesting snapshot of popular culture during the Great War. The messages on some of the postcards have also been digitised. Amongst the images are photographs from the front, cartoons, illustrations, and an embroidered card. Puke Ariki - online exhibitions : "our dear brother" : William David Kemp This is an online exhibition published on the Puke Ariki web site. It looks at the experiences of New Zealand soldier William David Kemp during the First World War, using digitised items from the W.D. Kemp Archive to illustrate his story. Available on the site are primary sources such as photographs, postcards, letters, artefacts, a pay book and diary entries, building a picture for viewers of Kemp's experiences in the Dardenelles and of his death at Chanuk Bair. Puke ariki photographic collection This photographic collection of the Taranaki and the New Plymouth area is published on the Puke Ariki web site. The photographs span the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and can be searched by keyword or browsed by category. The categories are buildings, business and industry, dairying, Mt. Puke ariki passenger lists : Taranaki area passenger arrivals 1852-1885 This is an online database of immigrant passenger arrivals in the Taranaki region of New Zealand in the nineteenth century. It is jointly published by the Puke Ariki cultural centre and the New Plymouth Genealogy Group. The site allows users to search for passenger arrivals between 1852 and 1885 by surname, first name, ships name and date. The results give details of the passenger's name, ship, date, direction, port of arrival, port of departure and the date the arrival was published in the newspaper.
