Blackboard "Quick Start" Templates The Blackboard "Quick Start" Templates were developed to provide an easy way for faculty new to Blackboard to get off to a quick start. The templates include a ready-made course site navigation structure, content recommendations and learning objects, and built-in tools and guides for faculty new to the Blackboard course environment. They were initially designed to meet the needs of the Faculty who wanted to use the web-based Blackboard course management system just to supplement their course materials, but struggled with the learning curve necessary to just get started. E-Learning Travel Guide (Online & Hybrid Student Orientation to E-Learning Website) This project was created as a follow-on to the Orientation CD previously developed. The scope has been expanded to include all SCC students taking Hybrid or Online courses. Also, the format has been changed to web-based for easier access by all students. The Role of Vocational Education and Training in Attracting Foreign Investment From Multinational Companies This ANTA-funded study investigated the importance of VET skills in company decisions to invest in Australia. The study was based on a survey of twelve MNCs that had expanded here in the last three years. The quality of the VET-skilled workforce was ranked equal third out of 15 factors when deciding upon investment location. More firms ranked 'proximity to markets/customers' and 'quality of infrastructure' as the most important. The study also examined the impact MNCs had on the local labour market and training system.
