2004 Advent Calendar from Culham and REEP The idea of life as a journey is found in many religious traditions. Labyrinths and mazes can both be used to develop this metaphor – but each suggests a different way of imaging the underlying pattern of life. A journey is central to the Christmas Story. The shepherds, too, made their pilgrimage to the stable in Bethlehem. And each year, in their imagination, Christians continue to make this journey into the presence of the new born Jesus. Labyrinths and mazes, with their range of symbolic possibilities, develop this theme in the 2004 Advent Calendar from the Culham Institute. From EdNA Online on November 29, 2004 at 7:30 p.m..
