When the objective has to be written as a single sentence, it becomes necessary to write very clearly and succinctly. Avoid unfamiliar words. This guideline is very difficult to follow. Unfamiliar words become familiar words by the end of the lesson or course. In many lessons or courses, it is impossible to avoid unfamiliar words or terms. Avoid exact numbers. This guideline is relatively easy to follow in course outlines. Using words like several, many, various give the instructor the flexibility that is needed when developing course outlines. Course outlines should have a shelf-life of 3-5 years so instructors need to be able to adapt the course to various classes. However, in lesson plans this guideline may not be applicable, exact numbers may be appropriate. Use the plural verb form. It would be most unusual for you to teach only one learner so write all objectives in the plural form. Review Current Slide
