General Program Information
Adult education is desirable
in a technological society and in a world of rapid
change. Because successful adult education depends upon the competence
of the instructor, instructors should be able to apply
adult education theory and instructional methodology. Knowledge
and skills are no less
important than expertise in a subject field; both enhance the
effectiveness of adult educators and adult education.
The Certificate in Adult Education program is designed to
meet this need. It consists of seven courses (39
credit hour) and 200 hours of adult teaching experience. The Certificate in Adult Education is granted
by the Minister of Education of Manitoba.
The goals of the Certificate in Adult Education (CAE) program
are:
- To promote excellence in the teaching of adults, and
- To provide instructors with the theoretical and practical
basis for becoming effective in a college or vocational setting.
