Can TED still talk the talk?
Now that TED is moving from Long Beach to Vancouver, it's officially cool to start being critical of its corporate-learning massage. At least, that's the message I got from this Globe and Mail article (I read it in the dad tree version on the plane; caution, you may encounter a paywall if you're foolish enough to read the Globe a lot).
Open Science Course Sprint: An Education Hackathon for Open Data Day

This sounds like fun: "the Science Program at Creative Commons is teaming up with the Open Knowledge Foundation and members of the Open Science Community to facilitate the building of an open online course, an Introduction to Open Science. The actual build will take place during a hackathon-style “sprint” event on Open Data Day on Saturday, February 23rd and will serve as a launch course for the School of Open during Open Education Week (Mar 11-15)." It's not a good day for me, unfortunately, to if they go into the California evening I may be able to drop in by Hangout.
