With 100 million users and counting, is Threads is on course to finish off Twitter?

This is a pretty good and detailed comparison between Twitter and Threads, especially with regard to what sectors (news, advertiser, adult) are using it. "Meta wants its new rival to be a friendly, news-free space. But with missing features, it might not leave Elon Musk's platform in the dust quite yet." One thing it doesn't mention: Threads already has a blue check mark feature; like Twitter, you have to pay for it (about $15) but unlike Twitter, you have to prove your identity.

The Economy of Things: the next value lever for telcos
Raquel Katigbak,

As this article states, "The growth of connected devices creates an ever-expanding market for sourcing, blending and refining data into actionable, real-world insights." The article is directed toward telecommunications companies (telcos) but what happens here will overlap other sectors, including education. For example, "A key enabler is the adoption of decentralized identity and digital wallets for data owners and IoT devices that provide both an anchor identity and a means to transact with connected devices and assets." Right now, the reputation of online identity and currency providers is pretty low, for good reason. That won't last, as governments and communications companies build up the required infrastructure. This is happening now.
