When people accuse Hezbollah of inciting the Lebanon war, consider this, from Chomsky:
Gaza, itself, the latest phase, began on June 24. It was when Israel abducted two Gaza civilians, a doctor and his brother. We don't know their names. You don't know the names of victims. They were taken to Israel, presumably, and nobody knows their fate. The next day, something happened, which we do know about, a lot. Militants in Gaza, probably Islamic Jihad, abducted an Israeli soldier across the border.
This little bit of information, of course, is not reported anywhere. It's much easier to assume the terrorist Hezbollah started the war, because they always do. Or at least - we are always told they do.

p.s. Coverage of the Israeli kidnappings, in case you think Chomsky's making it up.

And while we're at it, from Fairness and Accuracy in Media:
In reality, however, since the pullout and before the recent escalation of violence, at least 144 Palestinians in Gaza had been killed by Israeli forces, often by helicopter gunships, according to a list compiled by the Israeli human rights group B'tselem. Only 31 percent of the people killed were engaged in hostile actions at the time of their deaths, and 25 percent of all those killed were minors.
I am uncertain how killing children fails to count as a provocation, but that the Palestinian response does, but perhaps I'm just not reading the media closely enough.
