Goodbye Google+

The corridor of uncertainty,

I don't want to write a lot about the demise of Google+ because other people have covered the ground pretty well, for example, that "the main lesson here is that platforms and tools come and go." But I do want to suggest that there might be an Act II for Google+, maybe in the form of (semi-)private collaboration networks for GSuite customers (think Slack, but fully integrated with Google's other services). That would explain why Google is inelegantly shutting down the service. And it would fill a pretty obvious gap in the GSuite line.
