This paper (16 page PDF) features a group of academics conceptualizing and assessing the role of AI in the design and delivery of their courses. To me, the application of AI to transform courses felt archaic. Still, the paper is worth passing along. The authors examine five case studies: using AI to enhance academic literacy; design and personalization of learning; technological development; promoting social inclusion; and an AI-enhanced dashboard. These uses of AI, to my mind, help fill out what would be a wider typology, perhaps one that could even extend beyond courses (as hard as it may be for any academic institution to stretch that far). (p.s. a big brickbat to Sciendo for making it a real pain to find a direct link to the supposedly open access PDF).
