There are several criteria for selecting an evaluation instrument. They are:

• The level of the objectives to be evaluated -- review the course outline for the examples of objectives and analyze for their placement on Bloom's Taxonomy.
• The number of students to be evaluated
• The length of time it will take to prepare the evaluation instrument
• The length of time it will take to mark the instrument
