Sylvia Martinez covers the recent acquisition of Summize by Twitter and ponders how dependent educators are on free software. "So you have to ask yourself, is "buzz" plus "free" driving educational practice and planning? Are you building a future on this premise? Are educators walking into a trap set out to attract any and all users, just so venture capitalists can make a return on investment?" I would never use a free application that is not open source if it was essential to my organization. With open source you can take the code and host it somewhere else. Consider that free really means "free for now". -HJ
