It's a sad commentary, and to me points to the nature of the organizations opposing file sharing, downloading and open access. Meanwhile, as France implements a law that would block internet access to people accused of downloading, other nations watch nervously - the law requires extensive monitoring and tracking of internet use, in order to enforce its provisions, while people are punished without even the formality of a show trial.
