From the about page: "Sophia is a social teaching and learning platform that taps the teacher in all of us and enhances the learning process by providing access to a wealth of knowledge, help, instruction, standards-aligned content, and expertise available to learners everywhere." But as Mark Barnes says in the comments to this video, "In it's current form, it is nothing more than a supplemental tool -- by no means the future of education. Since research indicates that adding objectives in a way students can understand them is crucial to learning, I like this feature, along with graphics and videos (although some videos are simple and may bore students)."
