Engaging Learning

This paper looks at how we move educational technology to anenvironment that helps retain the inherent interest of learning. The ideal is an activity that intrinsically engages thelearner, and leads them through an interactive experience that enhances their ability to solve problems. It proposes that engagement comesfrom "interactivity" and "embeddedness," two things I've proposed over the years, and that the elements that constitute these two components match with good learningdesign as well.
