This case study illustrates that in order to exploit more fully thepotential of online technologies in educating learners for meaningful and effective participation in the emergingknowledge economy, the university community which includes both teachers and students needs to make majorinnovations in its teaching and learning approaches respectively. It means building a learning community online and this is implemented byadopting the collaborative learning model as the underpinning educational framework for the online environment.
