5 Technologies You Need To Know
Jun 22, 2001
The five technologies are: (1) remote security, (2) voice over IP, (3) storage area networks, (4) wireless networks and (5) extensible markup language (XML). Of the five, the latter two are locks. I'm not so sure about storage area networks but I do expect personal centralized storage to evolve (as any person who uses three computers in different locations will attest). Voice over IP is much better than voice mail, but not what it could be - too many companies still insist on metering the service. And remote security os just common sense. Good article, many examples and links to vendors. By Ann Harrison, David Orenstein, and Robert Poe, Business 2.0, June 26, 2001.
