Defends the need for quality assurance with respect to learning outcomes, learning design, and assessment. Locates the need for quality assurance within the context of a global marketplace (yet with local needs). Offers a nice checklist of quality criteria (this could be extracted and would make a very nice one or two pager). Examines the role of accreditation, looks at how quality impacts marketing, and examines institutions' capacity to provide quality in an online environment.
