The Learning Web
May 31, 2002
Powerpoint slides from my keynote address at today's AMTEC conference. The gist of my comments is to show that online learning is stalling because of increasing entry barriers and stifling restrictions placed on content sharing. To break out of this, I recommend (and predict) that the distribution of online learning materials will need to resenble the structure and format of the semantic web, indeed, to be a part of the semantic web. Also, a quote that is not part of the slide show but is (in my humble opinion) worth repreating: "Content is meaningless without context. And context is not created by sitting in front of a computer reading content."
