The author makes a worthwhile point: "If we are worried that some modern-day Shakespeare isn't keeping early electronic drafts of her work, then we should build the capability to do so into the tools she is now working with. If we are worried that popular file formats are proprietary and hopelessly corporatized, then we should educate people about the benefits of standards and open source." Hard to disagree!
