I am in the main sympathetic with the view expressed in this article. Wriotes, the author, "I am specifically asking researchers in the field of education to consider how greater public access to educational research is consistent with our understanding of what we do to foster education and further democratic participation." This goes beyond merely plastering our webistes with free content; it speaks to the politics of engagement and reflection. How can we have anything like a reasonable and rational population if all instances of reason and rationality are locked behind a firewall?
