Excuse me, what? $578 million for a school? This should perhaps put an end to the arguments about the value of online learning - it's hard to find a less cost-effetcive approach than this school. Jessica Shiller writes, "Los Angeles laid off 3000 teachers this year, and the state faces a $640 million dollar budget shortfall. In spite of that, LA Unified School District paid for this new school. What's wrong with this picture?"
