An Essay on W3C's Design Principles

This is a nice essay and it covers the major aspects of the web's design principles: simplicity, usability, device-independency, and a dozen more. But for all that, it misses the web's most important principles, or so it seems to me. The web is distributed, meaning that the entire thing isn't stored on a single computer. And it is open, in the sense that anyone can create a web site. Without these, the rest doesn't matter. It really doesn't.
