What's interesting about audio drama? It descends form the genre of 'radio plays', though I would define it broadly enough to include the episodes of Groucho Marx in You Bet Your Life I have been listening to recently. What's interesting to me about it is that it let your imagination wander when your eyes are doing something else, like steering a bicycle or closed in the presleep night. In retrospect, it is television and video that are off, as they are media that demand that you stop all else and pay attention to them (though I think 21st century video viewing habits have evolved beyond the rapt attention we would pay to 1960s sit-coms). Should we preserve and promote audio drama? Absolutely.
