You could search all day and not find a painting of a toilet in a field. Or, alternatively, ypu could issue a simple command to a computer, and have a prrogram ppaint one for you. What's interesting is that it's not painting some specific toilet. It is painting an instance of the concept of a toilet the neural network has learned from viewing other images of toilets. The same type of technology can be used to create artifically-generated faces, and more. "One important aspect of Indico's research is how remarkably little the computer has to be taught about the world before it can start generating its own, realistic-looking images."
