This is a classic case of using a MOOC for a wider purpose. Fronted mostly by the European Space Agency and involving a half dozen or so national agencies, this MOOC is enlisting teachers to have them help create space-related inquiry-based activities. "The project uses the excitement of space to raise their interest into science and technology and stimulate their sense of global citizenship." See also: Universe Awareness.
