This short paper addresses the question in the title and argues that "it is necessary to address the problems that prevent parental involvement." The major problem preventing parental involvement, according to a U.S. Department of Education survey, is time. The use of websites addresses the issue of time, and therefore "By engaging technologies in communicating with parents and supporting information about science education, teachers can overcome barriers to parent involvement in science education."
