The message here is "hit pause". Which means, in this case, that "for many organisations this requires a shift in culture and mindset, but building capabilities around adaptability, critical thinking, and application of evolving technology is critical to our survival." Well sure. But if you're doing this for the organization, you're doing it for the wrong reason. Here's my message: hit pause on work. Hit pause on the organization. Take the time for yourself - this doesn't mean escaping from technology or turning off your brain, but rather, investing in, learning and using technologies, tools, processes and ideas that work for you. Remember: society doesn't thrive unless we thrive. (Meanwhile I'm going to go and be all cynical about authors who make successful careers through marketing tie-ins and talking about what corporations need, at the expense of the people who work in them.)
