This post begins with the idea that the Education and Digital Culture (EDC) course challenges conventional understandings of 'space' and 'subject'. It's based on the use of WordPress rather than a traditional LMS, which right away puts it out there in a public space. It also uses Miro, an online collaboratiove whiteboad platform "where much more of our teaching and assessment happens. Although Miro is advertised as a synchronous whiteboard space, we are instead using it this semester as a persistent online exhibition area... The collaborative and visual emphasis of Miro provides a space where I have been able to incorporate teaching approaches I observed in the undergraduate architecture studio." I haven't used Mico, but I've used online collaborative spaces a lot, and can attest to the change in social dynamics they can create.
