Knowledge, Learning, Community

This is a comprehensive and well-sourced resource covering major areas in diversity and social justice, including social identities, inclusion, communication, difference, power and privilege. The text is a mixture of background discussion, references to resources, and examples of class activities. Though multiple authors contribute, the majority of the text is written by Sharon Raz and offers a very clear perspective in favour of diversity, equity and inclusion. It's a broad topic and sometimes the discussion isn't as comprehensive as required (the section on misleading graphs, for example, is far too brief) but in other places the articles dive into significant detail. I appreciated the organization of the topic and would recommend the book as a framework from which to begin your own consideration of these issues. Image: Vernā Myers, How to overcome our biases.
