This article (11 page PDF) develops a course evaluation framework based on connectivist principles, validates it through review by five experts, then applies it to the evaluation of 30 courses from EdX, Coursera and FutureLearn. Not surprisingly, "The researcher found limited evidence of the use of Connectivsm principles in the design of these MOOCs.... The findings indicate that from the Connectivism perspective, the learning design quality of MOOCs is essentially low." Why does this matter? Because the review serves to "highlight a number of important aspects which could improve the learning design of these courses." Image: del Moral, et al.
