"A lot of what I see is data enthusiasts trying to mandate and enforce adoption," writes the author. "They try to do this through authority and implicit fear rather than by empowering everyone in the organization." But where they fail isn't in the data, it's in understanding the subject. "Our problem-solving nature does not always translate to being good at diagnosing problems. We rarely uncover the root cause of the perceived problems." Seems right to me.
