Alan Levine calls this "one of the most inspiriting stories of how openly sharing what you make is not 'giving away the shop'". As NPR reports, "The song 'Monkeys Spinning Monkeys' was released ten years ago and has since become the soundtrack to millions of viral videos. Its story shows how music has shaped — and been shaped by— social media platforms." I believe one of my TikTok videos uses it. It would have been nice, suggests Levine, had NPR actually linked to the source - the Incompetech website.
