Some pretty neat ideas in this summary of talks from ten speakers at Intel's fourth annual Education Visionary Conference. Some of the stuff gets me rolling my eyes - the whole depiction of education as preparing the workforce and building economic competitiveness seems to me to miss the point (because 'competitiveness' is only one economic model, and in many respects, a dysfunctional one). But that said, projects like Talbot Hill, which "virtually emulates democratic society in the school", seem to me to be very much heading in the right direction. Via Darren Cannell.
