No, not the Berlin Wall - that was yesterday - but Sesame Street, which debuted 40 years ago today. This, of course, makes me ten years old at its launch (it would be another year before it launched in Canada) making me "way too old" (that's what I said about it at the time). So I am, in North America at least, among the last of the pre-Sesame Street generations, a holdout for the true classics of children's television - Romper Room, Butternut Square (Mr. Dressup), Friendly Giant, and my absolute fave, the Thunderbirds.
